Marina Amenities for Your Boat

Stock up on everything you need for yourself and your amazing water adventures in the ship’s store. Your vessel still needs care. The marina has self-serve pump-out facilities that are available 24/7. When you need to fuel up before setting sail, the gas station has both diesel and non-ethanol fuel. There is a mean depth of 8’ in the marina basin and out Piper Channel.

Regular Reservations

To reserve a slip for any length of time outside any emergency conditions, you may do so online at the website.

Tropical Storms & Hurricanes

If your boat doesn’t have a home slip in the marina but you’re caught in the storm, the first-come, first-serve slips will offer you and your boat shelter from the storm. If you need to bring your boat in, you MUST come to the marina in person with a driver’s or captain’s license, as well as current declarations page for liability coverage of the boat. Once the paperwork is complete and payment made, you will be assigned a slip. Once a storm is NAMED, the minimum stay is one (1) week. On-shore business may mean marina personnel cannot answer phone calls. Reservations CANNOT be made over the phone for storm accommodations.

Jetty Boat

Jetty Boat

Mustang Island is the inhabited island, while San Jose Island and North Jetty have been left the way nature intended. The Jetty Boat runs daily from Fisherman’s Wharf in Port A and is the only way to access the North Jetty. It leaves Fisherman’s Wharf and lands at a private dock at the base of the North Jetty on the deserted beach of San Jose Island. Once there, you’ll enjoy birding, fishing, beach combing, and other activities.

Winter: Departures from Fisherman’s Wharf start hourly at 7 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. Summer: Departures from Fisherman’s Wharf start at 6:30 a.m. Departures are hourly 7 a.m. - 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Year-Round return trips from San Jose Island Dock back to Fisherman’s Wharf are every two hours starting at 10:10 a.m. - 4:10 p.m., with a final return trip at 6 p.m.

Other Things to Know:

Return trips (San Jose Island to Fisherman’s Wharf) are available when the boat finishes unloading passengers during earlier trips. If no passengers are traveling to San Jose Island at that time, the boat will not make a pickup until the next scheduled pickup time. NO reservations are needed, and tickets are not pre-sold. Arrive with enough time to purchase tickets and supplies. Remember the island is completely uninhabited, so you will need to bring everything you intend to use with you.

Directions

From the Aransas Pass direction, travel on Highway 361 to the ferry landing. Once you reach the island, exit the ferry and turn left at the first light. Pass the boat ramps and arrive at the parking area and Harbor Master Office.

Reservations

Call for reservations. Slips are assigned primarily by reservation. Slips will be assigned when payment is received. Please do NOT leave your boat in a slip that is not assigned to you. Upon arrival at the harbor, check-in at the harbor master’s office to receive your slip assignment. Do NOT put your boat into a slip without an official slip assignment.

Docks & Slips

There are 12 docks and over 200 slips. Short-term and long-term rentals are available, as well as daily rentals.

Events

The marina hosts a myriad of events throughout the year. Reserve the pavilion for events. Events include the Wooden Boat Festival, Harvest Moon Regatta, Port A Days, SAPA Saltwater Slam and other fishing tournaments, and more.

Location

Offshore Adventures is located inside the South Bay Marina, between Aransas Pass and Port Aransas on the road that leads to the ferry landing, three miles shy of the ferry landing. Mariners will want to look for Marker 9 in Aransas Channel. No matter how you reach them, you will notice the red, white, and blue of the building.

Boats

Multiple boats are available for your offshore journey in Port Aransas. The kind of boat depends on the kind of activity you hope to enjoy out at sea.

Trips & Cost

Trips can be booked in 6-, 10-, and 12-hour increments. There are even some skippers that offer an 18-hour adventure. Rates are per person and vary. Each captain determines their own rates. Extra charges may be assessed for fuel and other incidentals with fluctuating costs.

You can stock up before heading out to sea. While your charter may provide bait, tackle, and other trip necessities, you can stock up yourself. South Bay Marina offers a variety of live and dead bait for both offshore and bay fishing adventures. Turn your fishing outing into a catching outing!
