Museum Mission

The Art Museum of South Texas is more than simply a gallery. It’s an artistic venue with a broader mission to both operate educational facilities and host displays for the general public. The museum’s overarching goal is to advance knowledge, appreciation, and awareness of the visual arts that extends to residents of South Texas and visitors alike. It’s a place to explore new mediums, color combinations, and artistic endeavors in equal measure.

Beyond the Exhibits

A trip to the Art Museum of South Texas is a chance for visitors to enjoy a unique, interactive experience as well. Beyond the traditional exhibit halls and displays, the museum also hosts an artcade interactive space on the first floor where families can have hands-on fun with activities including painting, drawing, animation, and more. The museum also houses a digital studio within this creation station which offers a touchscreen experience complete with photo scanners and printers. After visitors have had a chance to enjoy browsing the museum and making the most of interactive fun, they can head over to the gift shop and pick up a souvenir to commemorate their visit. The gift shop is stocked with everything from books and jewelry to posters and trinkets for little ones as well. If all of the museum fun has left you with an appetite to attend to, making time for a stop at Elizabeth’s is a must. This on-site café provides guests with great harbor views and a savory menu to match. All day specialties include seasonal flatbreads, homemade hummus, burrata, and lemon rosemary cake, just to name a few.

The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History is a science and history museum in Corpus Christi, Texas, near Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge and the waterfront. It was established in 1957. Education goes beyond the classroom to immerse children of all ages into real-world challenges and exploration. Our Museum’s 40,000 square feet of history and science exhibits are a collection of carefully selected representations that are unique to our culture and our surroundings. Our historical collections showcase 500 years of South Texas history. From historic shipwrecks of early explorers to decorative arts from area families, these exhibits give you an up close look at the life and the people of our region.

The Mustang Art Island Art Gallery opened in June of 2006 in the small fishing village of Port Aransas on Mustang Island, a barrier island which is located across the bay from Corpus Christi, Texas. The 5000 square foot gallery is designed to display paintings, sculptures, pottery and photography that are all well lit for viewing up close or from afar. A rare treat to your eyes!

The Port Aransas Art Center is a community of artists and art patrons who value art and are dedicated to fostering and supporting the creative process that is art. The Center provides time, space, resources and art education for an enthusiastic and ever-increasing audience.

For over 25 years, PACT has entertained locals and tourists here in Port Aransas, TX. A variety of live performances presented Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings with designated Sunday matinees. If you would like to get involved, we always need volunteers…no experience necessary… on the job training will be provided.
