Everyone Needs a Little Beach Sand in Their Life
With temperatures reaching into the 70s and not dropping all that far into the 60s at night, of course some of your Spring Break shenanigans should take place at the beach, and our white sands are waiting to provide you an experience you will wish never had to end. Spend your beach moments letting the warmth of the sun warm you to your core or if you are more of an adventurer than a relaxer, zipping across the waters astride jet skis rented from Gettin’ Salty Watersports, located at 815 Trout Street Slip 7 #1908. It doesn’t matter how you spend your time at the beach, all that matters is that you forget real life exists and live totally in the moment!
Texas Sandfest, April 25-27
This next activity may not be for everyone, especially as it hits a little later in April rather than March, but if you get the opportunity to schedule your Spring Break escape over April 25 through April 27th, you must attend Texas Sandfest. The best sand sculptors in the world flock to our beaches during this largest sand sculpture contest in the nation, and as you explore all the incredible creations, you may not be able to believe what you are seeing. There is even an amateur contest, so if you are feeling confident about your skills, why not throw your hat into the ring? Offering food, beverages, live music, and all of those amazing sand sculptures you will see being built and displayed on the sands of Port Aransas beach. Also offering face painting and sand sculpture classes, vendors selling some really cool stuff, and the beverages will include beer and wine casting a pleasant glow over the proceedings.
It’s Pizza Time!
Some occasions call for fining dining and fancy wines and others are served best with a gooey slice of pizza, and during your Spring Break excitement, a visit to the Gaff may be in order. Located at 323 Beach Street, the Gaff’s homemade pizza will bring joy into your life, as will the live entertainment, special events, and pirate theme they have going on. Every year on New Year’s Eve they hold a “Black Eyed Pea Off” inviting guests to bring their recipes for a contest and although you will have missed this year’s contest, it is the perfect time to start planning a return trip for the New Year’s 2026. In the meantime, cold beer, gooey pizza, and a casual vibe makes everyone feel at home while far from their own homes.
Follow the Chattering Dolphins
If this were a singalong, you would be following a bouncing red ball that indicates the words that are coming up next, but Woody’s Last Stand and its Dolphin Watch Nature Tours (154 W Cotter Avenue) would have a diving dolphin chattering happily in your direction. The friendliest creatures in the sea are fun to watch, and if you choose one of their Sunset and Dolphin Tours, it will be everything you imagined it could be and so much more.
